Hi Chris,
How are things going with you? I thought I would check in with my Yuku account since I have been away from it for a while now. Sham came over to my house
yesterday with his family. He is married now and they have four kids that they adopted (all from the same mother, she was having problems with drugs, etc. and
child services had to come in and take the kids away, now Sham and his wife Julie have full custody).
My wife and kids are doing great. Jake is 4 now and in preschool. I drop him off at school every day and we normally get there early so we can play on the
playground together for 5-10 minutes before school starts. And Elise, my daughter, is going to be 2 this January. She is starting to talk now. She loves to
bring me toy animals and tell me what they are.
I am also doing a lot with magic still. I joined SAM because they had a couple assembles near my house. They have a lot of great lectures and the Nashua NH
assemble likes to do lots of magic shows. I got to help out with one this summer by doing close up magic of people as they walked by (it was at a town fair
kind of thing) for a few hours before the show. I do not have a stage show yet but I can certainly put together 5-10 minutes of close up effects. I am
working on sponge balls right now. I have the basic moves down but need to practice a few routines a bit more. There are so many great sponge ball routines
that I think I should be able to learn 3 or 4 good ones and mix them together to make 5 minutes of good entertainment out of it. I think that a good magician
should be able to do a few good routines with a number of different props (e.g. ropes, cards, sponge balls, cups and balls, coins, silverware, rubber bands,
even our own fingers). I also bought the first 6 volumes of the Tarbell Course. They are used and from the 50's but they are in good condition and the
material in them is still very much useful for today.
Anyway, I am still enjoying magic. Hope you are too. I have to get back to work now.
Take care,
John

Reply from Chris W962: Wow John, what a surprise! Thanks for stopping in. Nice to hear that you and the family are doing well. Also nice to hear that Sham is doing well, you all
deserve the best.
Things are going great here. I still work for yuku, but have pretty much given up everything else, other than writing. I still juggle, but haven't done any
magic lately although it is always in the back of my head that I should pick it up again.
I'll be leaving New York and moving to California in October 2010, just one more winter of shovelling snow!

Real nice hearing from you, John!
